Injection is a proven method of sealing against pressurised water in structural renovations. The grouting of injection hoses also provides the benefit of using the advantages of injection technology in new construction specifically for the sealing of construction joints.
MEDIPRESS and VPRESS® injection hoses, which can be injected several times, have been used successfully for construction joint sealing for many years. They can be injected with microfine cement, polyurethane resin or acrylate gel.
In contrast to passive sealing systems such as conventional water stops and waterstop sheets, which only seal off due to the so-called circumference extension, active systems such as injection hoses and injection grouts can be used to cancel out possible weak points in the concrete caused by cracks or badly compacted concrete.
Recommended systems
Ready to use dry mixture based on cement, non shrinking.
Equipment
Use
The hoses are fitted in the center of the reinforcement using hose sections of between 8 and 10 m in length. Longer lengths of hose can be achieved, if required due to construction conditions, depending on the grout used.
MEDIPRESS, VPRESS® or ECOPRESS injection hoses and air bleed hoses are joined simply and without tools using screw-in grommets which are screwed into the hoses by hand.
Fixing of the injection hoses is carried out using plastic clips (which can be dowelled or pressed into fresh concrete) or with nail clips. As a rule the venting ends are guided from the construction at right angles. For multiple injection of the injection hoses it is recommendeded either to fit the venting ends with nail packers or to keep them together in storage boxes.
